Facility Rentals - Policies and Guidelines (November, 1997)

Facilities available for rent include: Sanctuary, Friendship Room, and McColl Hall (with or without kitchen use).

Please note the following:

1. Anyone wishing to book available facilities must arrange same through the Church Secretary with a written request.  The final approval will be given by the Board of Stewards.

2. An insurance waiver is to be included with each rental contract.

3. Cooke's-Portsmouth United Church groups will be given priority over outside interests when more than one group is requesting use of the facilities simultaneously.  Groups within our church must let the Church Secretary know of their wishes for space.

4. The Board of Stewards has the authority to waive all or any charges for any deserving charitable organization or service group.

5. No alcoholic beverages, no smoking, and no gambling allowed on the church property.

6. A caretaker must be present at all church functions or as otherwise directed.  For non-church functions up to four (4) hours an additional caretaker's fee will be added to the rental fee.  An additional hourly rate will be charged for excess of four hours.

7. Security is the responsibility of the church group when the caretaker is not present.

8. The church kitchen is the responsibility of the UCW.
